Problem solving method is the most effective approach to develop understanding and application ability in the students, although, one has to constantly improve and change their style of teaching based on students’ performance and reaction to it, every individual requires different approach, the contents has to be delivered in such away that the students can relate to the contents. Helping them to learn on their own should be the aim.

Actually always wanted to be in teaching, that's why completed BEd degre long back in 2005-06, passionate about teaching, but life had other plans, joined TECHNO INDIA GROUP OF SCHOOLS in the year 2009 continued till 2011 as a Science teacher, then got a GOVT JOB moved to Calcutta, after a long lay off, want to spend sometime reaching, and if I can help them to learn and in that process can earn some recognition in this field, will be glad.

Got selected as a PRT in the Techno India School, Balurghat, on a temporary basis, got confirmed as a Permanent teacher within a year, got selected as a coordinator following the confirmation.

Seeing forward to get some recognition in this field

My aim as a tutor is to create in my students a deep understanding and confidence in answering exam questions and being able to tackle new and unfamiliar problems. My experience has been that one-to-one personal tuition has a unique value to students because of the ability to resolve the students’ personal barriers to learning in a way that lays the foundations for a deep and lasting understanding of the subject. My approach varies depending on the student’s needs and learning style. However my teaching process is based on encouraging students to think for them, using real-life examples wherever possible. I usually focus on exam-style or past paper questions in order to check, practice and perfect the student’s understanding and technique.

I started home tuition when I was a college student. At that time I started it for part time for my pocked money, but gradually I’d seen that Private tuition is helpful in imparting the knowledge and interest in the student and they are able to get maximum benefits from home tuition. The students are able to explore new learning style and they are able to change the way they study in the classroom. When I entered my professional stage at that time I used to teach a few students. But gradually I change myself from a process manager to a professional home teacher as it was the love of the subject or the love of those students who are intelligent and I like to solve their queries.

I feel my greatest accomplishment might be two simple things: I made learning interesting and fun and I taught children to love and inquire about science. When I started, I used to teach 3 or 4 students in a year. But from when I took it professionally I teach 13-15 students in a year. As a science home tution teacher i spent almost 14 years where i mostly teach CBSE, and ICSE students from class 6 to class 10.

I have taught more that 15 students of The Newtown School in different classless and they have scored more that 88% among them 5 of them ware board students. I have taught the students of DPS Ruby Park, DPS NewTown, Don Bosko, The Assembly of God Church School - Park Street, La Martiniere For Boys, South Point International school, Calcutta international school, Sri Aurobindo Institute of Education, Bhavan's Gangabux Kanoria Vidyamandir, Saltlake Shiksha Niketan. And right now I am teaching the students of DPS MegaCity, St. James, Culcutta public School, Aswini Nagar, Julien Day School, The NewTown School.

Teaching approach: I have a holistic approach, where the syllabus forms just the basic guideline. The student is expected to go beyond the syllabus. I believe that each child is different and has a different learning approach, so I try to incorporate that into my teaching. I pay stress on vocubulary so as to make the child learn to think analytically and express herself/himself effectively both verbally and in writing.

Why I teach: I prefer hometutions to school teaching because:
1. It allows me to interact with the child on a personal level, enabling me to monitor his progress more effectively.
2. It allows me the space to go beyond the syllabus, try out new methods of engagement for the child.
3. It has flexi-hours.

Teaching journey: I have been teaching since 1992.
