Why I teach: I have always idolised the likes of Swami Vivekananda and Rabindranath Tagore, who, though not teachers by profession, have had exemplary contributions to the growth of art, culture, literature and religion not just for the sub-continent of India, but for global citizens beyond. Though, not as influential, in my time as a teacher, it is these values that I have upheld and I take great pride in having been able to give back to society through nurturing the young leaders of the future.

Teaching journey: Having started my teaching career, in a quaint secondary school in Assam, I have garnered invaluable experience in teaching and guiding students of varied ages and interests. I then moved to a reputed institution in Shillong, as a primary and middle school teacher. Eventually, in 2007, after permanently shifting to kolkata, I joined the St Stephen's School, where I have overseen the development of my middle school students as their class teacher and mentor. Having 15+ years of experience under my current employer itself, I am now looking to delve deeper into my skills as a tutor in adapting with the changing patterns and needs of the students.

Student progress: I have taught over 20 students of St Stephen's School (ICSE) along with a handful of students from DPS, Ruby Park (CBSE) ranging from classes 3 to 9. All my students, regardless of their academic acumen have scored decent marks (above 80 percent) in the final term papers, for the years that I have taught them. 5 to 7 of my current students are all rank holders in their respective classes scoring above 95% for my subjects.
