About teaching expand_more
An effective tutoring approach is learner-centred, goal-oriented, interactive, and adaptable according to the needs of the student. A tutor should not only provide knowledge but also inspire confidence, curiosity, discipline, and independent thinking in learners. The following points explain an ideal tutoring pedagogy that ensures holistic academic development.
I chose the teaching profession because it allows me to contribute meaningfully to society while continuously growing as a person. Teaching is not only about delivering knowledge; it is about guiding students, building their confidence, and helping them develop the skills needed for their future.
Teaching has always been more than a profession for me; it is a responsibility to shape young minds with knowledge, discipline, confidence, and values. My journey as a Moral Science and English teacher has been deeply enriching and inspiring, allowing me to contribute to the academic as well as personal development of students.
As an English teacher, I have focused on developing students’ communication skills, grammar, vocabulary, writing ability, and confidence in spoken English. I always try to make learning interactive and student-friendly through discussions, storytelling, debates, grammar exercises, and creative writing activities. Over the years, many of my students have shown remarkable improvement in academic performance, public speaking, and overall confidence in using the English language.
My ICSE students have also performed exceptionally well. One student secured 97 in English Literature and 95 in English Language in the ICSE examination. Another student achieved 94% overall with distinction in Humanities subjects. Many average students have shown tremendous improvement. One student who initially scored around 55% later achieved 85% in the board examination through consistent practice and motivation. My goal is not only to help students score high marks but also to build confidence, discipline, and strong subject knowledge.
